& HAPPY BELATED 16TH BIRTHDAY HANNAH!
So today I woke up at 6AM and then went to take the 6:59AM train. I got to the hospital at around 7:55AM, and then waited in the lobby with Andrea and Iris. I didn't get to sign in until 8:21AM because of the huge line and technical difficulties going on. But eh. I then waited for awhile, and then was taken on a tour of the buildings. I didn't start work until around 9:50AM. Dang. HAHA. The other messengers, the team leaders, and I walked around from location to location to ask people if they needed any help or anything. We got to give packages to the mail room and even deliver flowers/a stuffed animal to a patient. <3 After each location, we were supposed to get a signature by the person working there. Well, the guy in the mail room would not sign our paper. He kept yelling at us saying how we don't work for him so he shouldn't sign it. His logic made no sense.
I was exhausted after only an hour of work. And then we got paged to go back to the office and finish up. :) I walked over to the other building hoping to run into Iris to go to the train station, only to run into Andrea. :) I waited for her to finish, and then we walked back over to the lobby. We saw Iris, and yeah, Iris and I took the train home. :)
I went home and ate lunch since I was starving. And then I went outside to take some pictures, as I promised! Well, two humongous mosquito bites and 20+ pictures later, I went back inside. What I've found is that all of the photos that I plan out in my mind never turn out how I want them too, but the spontaneous, more whimsical photos do. If any of you have been reading my blog from the start, you'll recognize this bracelet as the one Ivy gave me! It's a beautiful bracelet for a beautiful cause. I wanted to do this because 1) yesterday was a rough day for my family, and I just want to remind myself that there will always be hope and 2) I now volunteer at a hospital and HIV/AIDS awareness has grown more and more important to me.
This photo is very discolored. I was just testing out color effects, and I went with a really rustic-looking, vintage, faded kind of look. I have not uploaded this anywhere but here. I might upload this into a set on Flickr later.
So yesterday's SAT classes!
Writing 3- It was so awkward because she made us say out loud our scores and stuff. I was thoroughly embarrassed. We took 2 sections, and I think I failed. Oh well.
Math 3- We took a quiz. I got an 80 on it, and he told me "good job." :) Haha. Then we had lunch where I met up with Nick and John and Justin. (His name is Justin!) Later, as we were doing problems in the notes, our teacher walks in and shouts my name. And then he goes up to the wrong person. LOL. Awkward.
Reading 2- The quiz was so simple. And then we learned some more strategies, and I did pretty well on the section that we took. :) I was happy.
Now off to do my SAT homework! Bye!
