Freshmen

Hi guys. I know I promised photos and lots of new posts, but my computer's out of memory, so I need to get something to increase its space. I'll start posting as soon as I stop being lazy, haha. I'll aim for tomorrow, but I can't promise anything. Tennis really drains out all of my energy.

A picture of me from over a year ago. (The things that happen when you can't put new pictures on your computer. D:)

On a different note, schedules came out today! Facebook was pure madness. (Where I live, once schedules come out, everyone starts posting statuses and notes and compares! Let's just say, we all got many, many notifications today.)

I know none of you go to my school, but I want to post my schedule here for the fun of it.
We recently moved into a new school, and with that came more changes to our beloved old schedule. So this year, they've changed things up a little bit. No one really knows what's to come out of it.

None of us really know why everything's changed to letters instead of days of the week, but we'll see when September 6th comes!

Which reminds me...I should start my summer homework soon. School starts in only 2 weeks. Asdfghjkl; Goodnight!

P.S.- I have invested some time into a new theme! I shall edit it some more later. :)

Celebrate!

HI EVERYONE.
I'm so sorry for the extreme inactiveness, but I was away on vacation and right after, preseasons started. So I've been kind of busy, but I have so much to post about!

Anyway, TODAY IS MY SIXTEENTH BIRTHDAY! :)

I had such an amazing day with my friends. I got tons of "happy birthdays" from the tennis team since I spent almost the whole day with them today, and I got to meet up with a few friends at Starbucks and just hang out and stuff. :) I also got the coolest cards that I'll soon upload.

OH. I also got my PERMIT. :) Now I can officially learn how to drive! Ahh, yay!

All of the pictures from my birthday will be up on another post (hopefully) tomorrow. Then, I'll start posting pictures from my vacation!

And a special THANK YOU to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. You are all so amazing. <3
Thank you for letting me have such a wonderful sweet sixteen. <3 I love you all!

Apologize

To clear things up, the title is both a song title (OneRepublic <3) and the truth! I sincerely apologize for not posting for so long. But honestly, nothing has really happened since my last post!
But I felt extremely guilty for not posting, so here is my alternative. :)

So you know how the 2012 London Olympics are coming up soon?
Well, it just so happens that they start exactly one year from today (July 27th)!

The other day, my dad brought home a pin from his work (they're sponsoring part of the Olympics). And I thought it was cute. :) **Note: I got extremely lazy and didn't do a nice job of hiding the place my dad works at, so just deal with my rectangles for now. x)

I love the Olympics. I get all excited whenever they come on or whenever something special comes on (like the World Cup!) I particularly enjoy watching the opening ceremony, gymnastics, and diving! And if I want, I'll watch swimming and track, but not really anything else. For the winter Olympics, I'll watch ice skating and speed skating, or whatever they call those races, and skiing/snowboarding. Haha.

I think I'm going to start a sort of collection of Olympic items. :) I have 2008 Beijing, 2010 Vancouver, and now 2012 London! I can't wait until the Olympics come back to America. (But who really knows when that will be.)

Alright, well, enough rambling for tonight! I hope you all have a beautiful day/night--wherever you are! :) And I promise there will be more interesting posts on here soon. I'm going on vacation in about a week, so I'm super excited. Expect to see loads and loads of pictures!

Goodnight everyone!

Legilimens

Hello. :)
This morning I went and picked up my permit book. In exactly one month, I'll be 16! :D
Later, I went and saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. MY GOSH, IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I wanted to just start breaking out into tears during the scenes with Snape. It was just such a good movie. :') Some people told me they thought it was too comical at times, which is true for the part in heaven, but it was overall really, really, really good.

I was supposed to see the midnight premiere and get the Harry Potter themed 3D glasses (I really want those ><), but I had SAT classes. So I couldn't go. /cries.

But I'm pretty happy with going today because the movie was just that good. <3 I love David Yates for making such a spectacular film like this one.
I will be putting small spoilers at the end of this post. So if you haven't seen it yet, don't read them! :)

Other than that, today I went out. I ended up buying a pencil skirt (finally!) and Animal Farm by George Orwell. <3 I was really happy with my purchases today. The skirt was $12.99 and the book was only $6.32!

I'm really excited to read this book. I wanted him as my author for my term paper, but other people got him before I could. :( Oh well.

Alright, the spoilers will be underneath this last line of text! Have a beautiful weekend everyone. <3

SPOILERS.

- I loved Neville and McGonagall in this movie. Omg, they were so boss. LOL.
- I was super disappointed by the Ron-Hermione kiss.
- I was disappointed that Ron and Hermione weren't really in the movie.
- The whole heaven scene was weird. Dumbledore was just flat out strange in that part.
- I was on the verge of tears during the Snape scene/the Snape-Lily scene. Omg, that was so sad. <3 I love Snape so much.
- The whole Gringotts scene was absolutely brilliant. The special effects were done beautifully.
- I hated the part where you could see the goblins dead. That was just unnecessary.
- THE ENDING WAS GOLDEN. I kind of wish that they would've stopped right after the wand got broken. But the epilogue was still good. <3
- That Voldemort-Malfoy hug was hilarious. LOL. So awkward.
- The movie was just amazing. Amazing, amazing, amazing.

Red Rover

Hi guys. :)
I'm so sorry for not posting these past few days, but nothing's really happened/I don't have any pictures. And I still don't, but I feel really bad for being so inactive.

Let's see. I had SAT class on Friday. And I had more SAT class today. They were both pretty good. Omg, my classes are getting funnier and funnier. :') So like in reading class, we all just figured out today how interesting our teacher is and how much we don't really get taught. x) It's hilarious. When we went out for break, we stayed out there for like 10 minutes. Hahah.

And then on Saturday, I went to this flea market. And I didn't buy anything except for a $2 windmill (our old one broke) and some lemonade and a pretzel. LOL. There were all of these like bags and sunglasses that were pretty cheap and stuff. But all the bags were like knock-offs of designer brands. And I don't ever wear sunglasses/I still have two pairs from when I went to the Sunglasses Hut back last summer. Literally, the last time I wore sunglasses was in California last August.

So I don't have any pictures. But here's a video I shot the other day! My camera ran out of memory, so I had to end it early.

Firework

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY

Happy Independence Day everyone! :) I know I've been kind of inactive, but this also happens to be my 100TH POST on Blogspot, so I decided to wait until a special occasion to blog about everything.

I've done lots since I last blogged on here. :)
On Friday, I had SAT classes. It was cool. I just like hung out with Nick, John, and Justin during lunch, and then I saw Abe after classes. It wasn't bad overall. After, I went to a grocery store nearby and I saw Jason there. HAHA. He was like, "Amber..? Amber? AMBER?" Oh gosh. Then I checked my phone, and Sarah texted me asking if I wanted to do something later. So we went to see the fireworks that night. They were so pretty, omg. :) That gif up there has a few pictures of mine from it! The ending was kind of weird though. Apparently there was some kind of fire or something and they just ended the show right there. HAHA.

Then on Saturday, I went to Philadelphia with Emily. :) We took the train and walked to the Franklin Institute. Omg, that place is so much fun. <3 We spent so much time there. And there was even a special firework show thing that talked about making fireworks. It was pretty cool. We also got to ride the Sky Bike thing. It's this bike that you ride on like the 3rd floor. And it rides on this one wire. Haha. It was fun though! And plus, we used Emily's membership card so admission and the Sky Bike were free. :) Loveee.

Emily riding the Sky Bike!

We went to rest of the 3rd floor and solved these puzzles. I solved the Hanoi towers thing. It was fun, yet frustrating. And then we went into the sports exhibit and did basically everything there.

Emily surfing it up. :)

After, we went to the heart exhibit and climbed through the giant heart. It was cool. :D I just hate the noises that come with it.

The giant heart. :)

After, we made paper! Haha. It kind of failed. But whatever. And then we went to the earth, space, and train exhibits. They were tons of fun, too. We ate lunch at like 2:30. And then went out to walk to Melrose Diner!
So basically in APUSH this year, we watched this diners video and Melrose was one of them. It had the catchiest jingle in the world, so we decided that we were going to go there one day. Don't go there. It was a 50+ minute walk there from the institute and then a 45 minute walk from there to the train station. Our feet wanted to die. Not to mention how we had to walk through the shadiest areas. Omg, haha. But it wasn't that bad when we got there. I got a strawberry milkshake in honor of the last diner I went to, and Emily got a Philly cheesesteak. :) It was like 90+ degrees outside, so we were reluctant to go back. But we had to eventually. ):

Then I just took some more pictures. :) There are a few of the statue of William Penn! If you know Philadelphia, you should know the old curse that goes behind it! Haha. :)

Alright, I'm going to go do some summer assignments and then some SAT prep.
Happy Fourth of July everyone! :)

Mad World

HAPPY 16TH BIRTHDAY SIENA!
& HAPPY BELATED 16TH BIRTHDAY HANNAH!
So today I woke up at 6AM and then went to take the 6:59AM train. I got to the hospital at around 7:55AM, and then waited in the lobby with Andrea and Iris. I didn't get to sign in until 8:21AM because of the huge line and technical difficulties going on. But eh. I then waited for awhile, and then was taken on a tour of the buildings. I didn't start work until around 9:50AM. Dang. HAHA. The other messengers, the team leaders, and I walked around from location to location to ask people if they needed any help or anything. We got to give packages to the mail room and even deliver flowers/a stuffed animal to a patient. <3 After each location, we were supposed to get a signature by the person working there. Well, the guy in the mail room would not sign our paper. He kept yelling at us saying how we don't work for him so he shouldn't sign it. His logic made no sense.
I was exhausted after only an hour of work. And then we got paged to go back to the office and finish up. :) I walked over to the other building hoping to run into Iris to go to the train station, only to run into Andrea. :) I waited for her to finish, and then we walked back over to the lobby. We saw Iris, and yeah, Iris and I took the train home. :)

I went home and ate lunch since I was starving. And then I went outside to take some pictures, as I promised! Well, two humongous mosquito bites and 20+ pictures later, I went back inside. What I've found is that all of the photos that I plan out in my mind never turn out how I want them too, but the spontaneous, more whimsical photos do. If any of you have been reading my blog from the start, you'll recognize this bracelet as the one Ivy gave me! It's a beautiful bracelet for a beautiful cause. I wanted to do this because 1) yesterday was a rough day for my family, and I just want to remind myself that there will always be hope and 2) I now volunteer at a hospital and HIV/AIDS awareness has grown more and more important to me.

This photo is very discolored. I was just testing out color effects, and I went with a really rustic-looking, vintage, faded kind of look. I have not uploaded this anywhere but here. I might upload this into a set on Flickr later.

So yesterday's SAT classes!
Writing 3- It was so awkward because she made us say out loud our scores and stuff. I was thoroughly embarrassed. We took 2 sections, and I think I failed. Oh well.
Math 3- We took a quiz. I got an 80 on it, and he told me "good job." :) Haha. Then we had lunch where I met up with Nick and John and Justin. (His name is Justin!) Later, as we were doing problems in the notes, our teacher walks in and shouts my name. And then he goes up to the wrong person. LOL. Awkward.
Reading 2- The quiz was so simple. And then we learned some more strategies, and I did pretty well on the section that we took. :) I was happy.

Now off to do my SAT homework! Bye!

The Moon-Atomic

Quick update.

I'm sorry I haven't posted anything lately.
I'll definitely post tomorrow. I don't have any pictures left, and Blogspot blogs aren't really fun unless there are some pictures to go along with all the words!
But yes, tomorrow expect a big post! (Okay, maybe not that big.)
Though I have lots to say, some of it normal day-to-day stuff, and some of it deeper.

Alright, well here's a quick idea of what I'll be talking about:
SAT class. Volunteering. The city. Hope. Photoshoot. Summer.

Fernando

Happy SWEET SIXTEEN Alexandra!

So today was my first day of SAT classes. It really wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be! :)
Writing 3- We learned a bunch of helpful grammar rules and then wrote an essay. We had to stay after class to finish though since our teacher was gone for so much class time.
Math 3- Nick was in my class! I sat behind him and next to a kid named Jack. The class was pretty fast-paced and everything, but I liked our substitute teacher a lot. :)
Lunch- Sat with Nick, John, and this kid that I don't know. Lol. Maybe I'll find out later. It was cool though.
Reading 2- Our teacher is so chill and nice. :) We did a few exercises in class and those were so simple. ;u; But then we took a section of a practice test...I changed my right answer to the wrong one at the last second. Ugh, I hate it when that happens.

I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow. ;~; I don't know what to expect. Maybe I'll post a picture afterwards?

No photos today. I really haven't touched my camera for ages.

If I Ain't Got You

I didn't do anything today. I feel so unproductive lately. ):
But I can't bring myself away from watching videos/TV shows. This is bad.
Anyhow, this morning I woke up at like 8:30, and immediately went to check my SAT II score online since they didn't have it at 12:00-12:58 AM. Lol. I didn't do so well. UGH. I mean I didn't fail, but I'd want a higher score. So I'm planning on retaking them in the fall or winter.
I finished my online training for volunteering. :D Yay! The last thing was basically just like a "I have a agreed to the terms and conditions" kind of thing. Lol. :) I finished like 5 of them last night, and the last 3 I saved for today took like no time at all.
My 3 history books came in the mail today! They were so expensive, omg. ): I don't want to read them, but I have to for summer assigns. Yay.
Oh, and report cards came out online today!
Okay, so I edited it a little bit so you couldn't see the teachers' names and stuff. But YAY. Heh. And you know how I told you how I got an 84 on my chem final? Well apparently I got an A, because it says it on the report card. :) [It's cropped out.]
Alright, I'm going to go eat. :D I really don't have a picture for today, but blogging on here doesn't feel right without one. So here is one of the pictures that also came out of my Memorial Day shoot. (Obnoxious watermark because one day I might edit this and actually use it.)
